Ocean's Story

Created by Ken and Naomi 13 years ago
Ocean Star was due to be born on Jan 27, 2011. On Jan. 15, Naomi noticed the baby wasn't moving. We called our midwife Erin who came to our house. Erin couldn't find a hearbeat so we went to the nearest hospital. Our worst fears were confirmed - her heart had stopped beating. We went home around midnight and got the best rest possible while beginning to grieve. Naomi's parents flew up from Florida the next morning and we started inducing labor Sunday afternoon. We went to the hospital after labor had begun to progress, and by early Monday morning, Naomi birthed Ocean Star. She was more beautiful than we could have imagined. She had a full head of dark brown hair, midnight blue eyes, the cutest little nose and mouth, and precious feet with long toes. We held her, kissed her, stroked her hair, breathed in her sweet baby smell, and prayed with her. When the time came, we kissed her and said goodbye. We last saw her resting peacefully in the hospital bassinet. She touched our lives deeply. Inside the womb, we experienced the wonderful joy of feeling her move, kick, and hiccup. We loved talking and singing to her. We named her Ocean Star because we will think of her when we look at the ocean and the stars. Ocean Star - Mommy and Daddy love you so very much. We miss you. All of our trust is that God will make all things right in the end, and we will be joyfully reunited some day. Rest peacefully in God's arms, our precious baby girl.
